Real Property
Uzelac & Associates will conduct a physical inspection of your property, complete a market comparison and
assessment analysis, and if you qualify, negotiate an appeal on your behalf.
We are skilled in aggressively pursuing appeals to obtain the largest reductions possible by the following steps:
- Compare your property to the assessor’s records to identify
differences in physical characteristics
- Review your business uses of the property to identify changes
since the last general reassessment
- Value your property by alternative methods, where appropriate
- Review assessments to identify errors
- Compare your assessments to those of other companies to identify
local inconsistencies
- Develop other evidence that may be relevant to the assessment
- Prepare a complete, up-to-date assessment of your property
- Propose alternative values using data from physical inspection,
reviews of financial records, and reviews of appropriate markets
- File appropriate appeals
- Conduct informal conferences on appeal issues with township assessors
- Represent you at formal hearings of the county property tax assessment
board of appeals and Indiana Board of Tax Review as necessary
- Monitor your properties and the assessment system to identify
additional opportunities that arise as a result of changes
